We always support the Girl Scouts of the USA when cookie season rolls around.

But let’s be honest…once they’re done selling, those cravings don’t magically disappear.

That’s when my wife discovered Walmart’s Great Value knock-off cookies and wow, they taste surprisingly close and you can grab them year-round for way cheaper.

So here’s my dad math:
✔️ Buy Girl Scout cookies when they’re available (support the cause!)
✔️ Stock up on the Great Value versions the rest of the year
✔️ Everybody wins 😄

Tonight was daddy-daughter dance night at school, and man, my heart is full.

Getting to spend this special time with my two girls was everything! Dancing, laughing, and just being their dad for the night. I absolutely love when schools create opportunities like this for dads to show up for their daughters.

And let’s be honest. Watching a bunch of dads standing around awkwardly, not quite knowing how to dance, was pretty great too. 😂 But here’s the thing, every single one of those dads showed up. They put themselves out there. They chose time over comfort.

That’s what little girls need most in this world: a dad who shows up, even when it feels awkward or uncomfortable. A dad who says “I’m here” with his presence.

Tonight was full of smiles, music, and dads doing their best dance moves, and I loved seeing so many fathers choosing their daughters. What a beautiful reminder that showing up matters. 💕

My fifth grader had homework about the Idaho State flag.

It said:
“The state seal is on the flag.”

So naturally…she read that as:

“There is a SEAL on the flag.” 🦭

Fast forward to her proudly showing me an air-dry clay masterpiece…of an actual seal. Like the animal. Flippers. Tail. The whole thing.

And I just stood there trying not to laugh because it was the most confident, committed misunderstanding I’ve ever seen.

Kids will say (and build) the funniest things. 😂
But honestly? The creativity. The effort. The pure belief she was 100% right.

I’ll take that energy all day.

They don’t want the nicest house.
They don’t need the fanciest toys.

Our kids just want our time.
Especially time with dad.

Whether it’s throwing a ball in the yard, wrestling on the floor, or just cuddling on the couch after a long day, that’s what they remember. That’s what fills their cup.

Life is busy. Work is loud. Phones steal our attention.
But showing up, even when it’s hard, is always worth it.

My New Year’s focus is simple: Time.
More presence. More yeses. More moments that matter.

Because one day, they won’t ask anymore. 💙

8 months with a hair system…and honestly? One of the best confidence decisions I’ve ever made.

It’s wild how something this simple can change how you feel showing up in the world at work, with your kids, on camera, everywhere. Huge shoutout to @lavivid_hairreplacementsystem for helping me feel like me again.

And yes, even with a newborn in the house, this is 100% doable. If I can manage a hair system while juggling dad life, diapers, and late nights…so can you. Confidence doesn’t have to take a back seat just because life gets busy.
